On August 11, 2015, The Last Ship was renewed for a 13-episode third season,[4] which was scheduled to premiere on June 12, 2016, but postponed following the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting due to the plot of the episode also containing a mass shooting in a nightclub.[5][6][7] As of July 17, 2016, 28 episodes of The Last Ship have aired.
